What Is It?
"The Children of Willesden Lane" is an inspiring performance of music, love and survival against all odds. American pianist Mona Golabek pays homage to her mother in the concert performance. Her mother Lisa Jura, was a refugee from Austria who left her home and her family behind on the Kindertransport just before the outbreak of World War II. Lisa Jura later went on to become a world-renowned concert pianist. Her daughter performs Beethoven, Grieg and many more, all the while telling her mother's story. "The Children of Willesden Lane" heads to Joburg this August for a one-night only concert performance. Presented in association with Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Centre.
