What Is It?

The Bioscope presents Losing Lerato - The Day I Lost My Daughter directed by Sanele Zulu. This touching story about the lengths a parent will go to, to be with their child is a must-see for South African audiences. Losing Lerato follows Thami, who has recently lost his job at a top firm following accusations of fraudulent activities. This is the last straw for his wife Noluthando who, fearing a drop in her standard of living, abandons her marriage, taking their daughter Lerato with her. Thami goes to extreme lengths to be reunited with his daughter, even kidnapping Lerato from school. They then flee Johannesburg for Kimberley by bus. This is an ill-conceived move puts Thami on a collision course with the law. As Thami’s actions put his life, that of Lerato and their fellow passengers in danger, leading to a high-stakes hostage situation on the bus, a shot rings out…
