Taking A Look At The Core Group

Joburg Admin / May 11, 2017

Core was a relatively small distributor of IT solutions for the media industry when they first started out. Today, they have revenues of “well in excess of R1 billion a year”, and strategically align themselves with global companies that are the drivers of innovation in their industries. At the core of their business is Apple – they have represented the brand since 1995 and are the sole distributors in SA. Plus they're also the sole distributors of Nintendo. Their responsibilities are all encompassing and include supply chain management, marketing management, channel management, enterprise sales and public relations. The territory of operations comprise South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique. This Sub-Saharan mega distributor has also assisted in tackling some problems in our education sector by distributing iPads to improve reading skills at Transoranje School for the Deaf, based in Pretoria. The school's primary objective is to use a variety of visual means to teach their deaf students South African Sign Language, as well as reading and writing in English and Afrikaans. The iDeaf Project (as it's known) originated from a necessity to better equip deaf students with critical reading and language skills. Here is a link to the Core Group's case study about the iDeaf Project. Here's a video to end off this article about a big company making a difference in a big way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yTNlpLIzpIA By Shawn Greyling Have you seen the Core Group building in Sandton before? It's pretty nifty. Leave your comments in the section below. Also, share this on social media and win a journalist's heart.
