Sue Williamson | That Particular Morning

Joburg Admin / July 11, 2019

What Is It?

Sue Williamson brings her latest solo exhibition "That Particular Morning" to the Goodman Gallery in Parkwood from July. Williamson is a multi-talented visual artist who has been working in the fields of videography, photography and installation since the late 1970s. Often tackling the topic of apartheid traumas in her works, Williamson advocates for social change and remembrance through art. "That Particular Morning" is Sue Williamson's first solo exhibition in Joburg since her "Can’t Remember, Can’t Forget" exhibition was staged at the Apartheid Museum in 2017. This latest body of work combines the mediums of photography, video, installation and ink drawing. Producing an overall aesthetic of reflective introspection on our post-apartheid situation. For example, "No more fairy tales", a series of filmed conversations, highlights the reality of daily life in South Africa twenty years after the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).  Don't miss "That Particular Morning" by Sue Williamson at the Goodman Gallery. It is bound to get you thinking, and talking about our past, present and future as a nation.
