A New Star Is Born!

Seasoned radio duo, Greg and Lucky kicked off the STARFM 91.9 broadcast early on the morning of 01 July 2021. Both of their personal social media pages have been buzzing with anticipation after they announced their radio comeback and how excited they both are to get back on-air together. “We were counting the sleeps until today and we’re really amped to be working together on radio again,” said Lucky. “We were watching the clock and although we should never wish for time to pass, the last few minutes before our 6 o’clock start were some of the longest minutes in our lives,” said Greg. STARFM 91.9’s Program Manager, Caren du Preez says: “I’m so glad that the day has arrived and that we are now up and running. The entire STARFM 91.9 team has put in a lot of work ahead of today and it’s a relief to be bringing our different, fun, authentic, friendly and inclusive mix of content to air.” The new radio station boasts a stellar line-up of both young and fresh radio talent. This on-air lineup includes Greg and Lucky; Mzi; Mantsoe Pout; Justin and Sibs; Mark Mdluli; Adrian Naidoo; Sivan (Eskimo Writer) Pillay; Lucy Bodumele; and Shaun. “Listening to STARFM 91.9 is going to be a fun experience, one that will keep the listeners plugged in to what is happening in their neighbourhood, whilst showcasing the best in local music, and more” adds Du Preez.
