Soweto Nightlife - Where To Go And What To Do

Soweto is rich with unlimited history, making it a popular tourist attraction spot. If you're in the neighbourhood or simply want to make your search for Soweto nighlife a little easier, come and dance the night away at some of the top bars and pubs in Soweto. Here's a list of more places to visit if you want to have an authentic and exciting night out on the famed Soweto streets.

Konka

Known for its expensive bottle service, celebrity attendance and A-list DJs, KONKA in Soweto has quickly established itself as a cornerstone of Soweto nightlife. Established by young South African businessman Kutlwano Pitso in the heart of Soweto, KONKA has more or less gained cult-like notoriety for being Joburg's new place to be seen. It takes the place of the old Icon Soweto nightclub. Here you'll find the rich and famous, influencers, socialites, politicians and anybody with a little bit extra to spend! The place is described as an ‘experience’ and plays host to local entertainment personalities like Black Coffee, DBN Gogo, Cassper Nyovest and DJ Maphorisa. KwaLichaba Chesa Nyama

This chesa nyama and car wash on is located on the famous and trendy Vilakazi Street in Orlando. Here, you get everything from a lovely chesa nyama that boasts a braai master that serves well-spiced meat, pap and chakalaka that hits the right spots, a bar serving refreshments to quench your thirst. KwaLichaba offers a vibrant vibe, live music, great entertainment and a car wash service that is usually filled up with classy German sedans. This spot makes a chill spot on laid back Saturday, that eventually reveals a pumping party as the night progresses.

Disoufeng

Disoufeng is a pub & restaurant in Meadowlands. The self-proclaimed “experts in nightlife” host Mogodu Mondays, Matured Sundays, Ladies Night and other eventful nights filled with music and dance. They offer a variety of services in addition to ensuring that we get the best entertainment and vibes. Brown Sugar 

The premium resto-bar opened its doors at Maponya Mall in 2021. It soon became the “it” place in Soweto, known for good food, great music and good vibes. Zone 6 Venue

Zone 6 Venue in Diepkloof is an entertainment space with a capacity of more than 2500 people. The venue hosts some of the biggest entertainment events in South Africa. Kofifi Cafe
