They say Jazz and freedom go hand in hand, and we totally agree. As South African jazz developed from traditional roots, through modern musical influences to form a unique inclusive and boisterous sound, the live performance programme follows the age old South African jazz collaborative approach of telling a kind of magic story. This launch takes place at the peak of what the book series calls "The Fifth Ray of SA Jazz", which is their 5th golden period of jazz since the golden 50s, firey 60s, liberation 80s and freedom 90s. The event will bring past, present and future together
