Overflowing Eats

South African food is rich in flavour and wholesomeness. From braais and puddings to kotas and biltong, South African food is always good, no matter the occasion. Here are some of our favourite must-try South African treats. The Whippet

Milk Tart

Milk Tart is one of the most loved desserts in the country and we are not surprised. The dessert is as the name suggests, a tart made from milk and eggs layered over a rough crust and sprinkled with cinnamon. This creamy tart is comfort on a plate.

Malva Pudding

Malva Pudding is one of the most mouthwatering desserts in the world. This sugary cake-like batter is delecately flavoured with apricot jam and drenched in sweet syrup. Malva Pudding needs to be served steaming with an accompaniment of cream, ice-cream or custard. While all options are yummy, we prefer ours swimming in vanilla custard.

Boerewors

Translated to farmer's sausage, boerewors is a South African delicacy that we all know and love. Packed with flavour, this sausage is what brings all South Africans together. A braai without boerewors is not a braai at all. Where To Find It? Sakhumzi Restaurant Lucky Bean Restaurant Vuyo's Restaurant Biltong

Biltong

Made by spicing and drying cuts of meat, biltong is a tasty snack adored by all South Africans. Available in chunks, sticks and solid pieces, this is a must-try treat for all.
