The SLAY Festival Made Women In Mzansi Slay All Day

If there is one thing that is truly taking over, it is women standing together to make it in business. SLAY Festival South Africa showed us how they are making things happen for women in South Africa.

Slay All Day!

The SLAY Festival is powered by She Leads Africa and the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD. These are organisations that support the youth who want to make a different and have ambitions to become women in the business industry. A first in South Africa, the event is hoping to create big changes through the empowerment of women. It is all about bringing women together to create a space where they can grow together and change the face of women businesses, empowerment and development. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9cI7nGnlg4/ This year brought keynote speaker, Bonang Matheba, a women proving that females are strong, intelligent and beautiful. Bonang took to the stage to discuss how women can claim their success while still staying true to the sisterhood. "Keynote Speaker Bonang Matheba electrified a packed crowd as she shared her lessons on growing her brand and making money moves in 2020" - SLAY Festival SLAY is hoping to grow in the country and create a platform and opportunity to pick the brain of women who are carving an inspiring an great path for generations to come. The event collects upcoming entrepreneurs, aspiring entrepreneurs and businesswomen from all over the African continent.

What SLAY Festival 2020 Had In Store For Us?

Women Empowerment

First and foremost, SLAY Festival creates a space for women from all walks of life to gather and be inspired. The first year of this amazing festival saw many beautiful African women come together to mingle, have fun, network, showcase and take home some inspiration to kick-start their own careers. SLAY Festival brought some of the most influential women to the event, this includes big names such as  Africa Director at Global Citizen Chebet Chikumbu, doctor and mental health advocate Dr. Khanya Khanyile, Managing Director for TRACE Southern Africa Valentine Gaudin, chef and entrepreneur Mogau Seshoene, actress Ayanda Thebethe, author and personal finance coach Mapalo Makhu, Head of Marketing for Google South Africa Asha Patel, Swiitch Beauty CEO Rabia Ghoor and many more who keep the footprint visible. https://www.instagram.com/p/B9bnK5jn09y/

Hair

Dark and Lovely proudly showcased their natural hair range while teaching women how to style their hair using the best products in Mzansi. Dark and Lovely spoiled some guests a full glam station where they were able to get brand new styles from the talented stylists. The ladies were also able to explore a Dark and Lovely range that introduces nourishing natural hair moisturisers, hair food with nutrients, shampoos and so much more goodies to give those coils, waves and crowns some extra love. The crowd was also able to partake in the social campaign where they could win a full range of hair products. This was quite a hit!

Fashion & Accessories

Entrepreneurs came out to showcase and sell some beautiful garments and accessories inspired by Africa and the beauty of women. The festival had various stalls with detailed African print garments, bags, accessories and so much more. The ladies did not disappoint as they came out in masses, dressed to perfection. Business & Informative Talks

SLAY Festival is a great platform to inspire upcoming entrepreneurs and creates a space where people can network and form long-term relationships to make something magical. The festival opened up a panel discussions, networking sessions, masterclasses and mogul talk sessions. This also included the best shopping experience from local vendors who are taking retail and fashion to a whole different sphere.
