Joburg Admin / May 26, 2009

The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City Casino continues to live up to its promise of bringing the country's greatest talent to its stage with a once-off performance by popular Afrikaans singer, Lianie May, on Saturday, 6th of June 2009. This talented singer will entertain audiences with her enchanting voice and soothing sounds. With a diverse musical range, from rock to pop, one may definitely look forward to Lianie’s enchanting melodies combined with wise and humorous lyrics. The bubbly and beautiful May is one of South Africa's hottest young talents. She has stunned audiences countrywide with her amazing voice and emotional interpretations of her songs. Her debut album was released in 2007 with the hit song, Jy soen my nie meer nie. She has since performed at many music festivals and has emerged as an audience favourite for the strength of her singing and her fun-filled performances. Munro, a finalist in Idols 2007, will be opening act for this double bill of great entertainment. Munro du Toit came third in the 2007 season of South Africa's Idols competition, laying the ground for the release of his debut solo album, One Way Ticket, through SonyBMG Africa in early 2009. The new record contains a majority of Munro's own compositions, some contributed unreleased compositions and a few choice cover versions. Go along and join in on an unforgettable musical experience on Saturday, 6 June at 20h30. Tickets priced at R85 and R95. Bookings at Computicket or at The Box Office. Gold Reef City Casino's intimate cabaret venue, The Globe Theatre, is hosting a brand new revue show called Voyage from Wednesday, 25th of March to Saturday, 27th of June this year. Produced, choreographed and directed by Julie De Jager, the show boasts two world-class singers as well as eight fantastic and talented dancers in breathtaking costumes. This magical show will be taking audiences on a global journey through Europe, Africa, Asia and America, featuring dancers in sexy ethnic costumes from the various parts of the world as well as a selection of crowd-pleasing hits with a mix of music for all tastes. Some of the songs featured in the show include Lost in France, African Queen, Walking on a Chinese Wall, Desert Rose, When Irish Eyes are Smiling, Let's Tango and God Save the Queen.
