SHOUT SA Launches Shout4Masks Campaign To Donate Masks To Healthcare Workers

Joburg Admin / April 6, 2020

Shout4Masks Helps Healthcare Workers

In an emergency shout out, SHOUT SA have created a new public service initiative with SMD Technologies – SHOUT4MASKS  – to assist in raising much needed money to purchase surgical masks directly from factories, avoid profiteering and urgently give them to healthcare prefessionals and patients who need them most. As SHOUT SA co-founder, Danny K, explains: "There is a crying need to protect those who are protecting us – our frontline heroes. Battling valiantly against COVID-19, our healthcare sector needs our support right now as the supply of masks dwindles. It’s getting desperate. Here at SHOUT SA, we have a voice, why not use it to shout out to our fellow countrymen to help secure more masks?" shout4masks campaign by SHOUT SA Fellow co-founder, Kabelo Mabalane, adds: "We are calling on all our fellow musicians and celebrities to get behind this to inspire and unite the nation to help get proper safe masks for those that need them most. For both patients and our most vulnerable communities, I am relieved that we are able to spread a protective front for both." The compelling platform enables all South Africans – individuals and corporates – to donate combo packs of both specialist and surgical masks to healthcare professionals and patients for as little as R100. Partnering SHOUT SA in this initiative are SMD Technologies, who have been able to secure incredible deals directly from factories at cost price with no middle men profiteering. As Avi Mishan, the Managing Director of SMD, explains: "With the dire shortage of masks in our hospitals, doctors and patients are at risk. We had to find a way to afford them quality masks with no compromise on safety and no profiteering. For the greater good of our country. This is about all of us." https://www.instagram.com/p/B-nXmSxnLOy/

There Are Various Corporate Tiers Available For Donation

Shout4Masks has called on all to urgently help fund these protective masks at scale and lend a powerful hand to turn the tide in the battle against this invisible COVID-19 outbreak with special Corporate Tiers. These tiers are hoping to create real momentum to crush the outbreak by substantially bulking up protection, to make even more of a difference to hundreds of community hot spots and healthcare centres. These special Corporate Tiers comprise of:
  • Silver Package - R25 000 donation
  • Gold Package - R100 000 donation
  • Platinum Package - R250 000 donation
These various packages will release thousands of vital masks to save teams and even wards of healthcare workers and patients from community field centres to clinics and hospitals across villages, towns and cities throughout the country. Certificates of recognition will be issued to honour these invaluable contributions. Donors will be pleased to note that Shout4Masks is a Section 18A company. All donations will receive a tax deduction certificate. https://www.instagram.com/p/B-jpEHunK50/ The Shout4Masks collaboration is technically supported by Yossie Hasson from Runway Fund and creatively powered by leading social change agents, MAL Design Studio creating for good - in an effort to reduce the economic, social and health impacts of COVID-19 in support of the national medical response to the pandemic. As Designer-In-Chief, Emma Strydom, passionately shouts out: "How encouraging and uniting for the country to see public services being initiated across NGOs, trusts, businesses and the entertainment industry to benefit and support the healthcare sector, fulfilling our nation’s gees to unite and give back. Imagine the power of Shout4Masks spreading its protective might across South Africa to more than flatten the curve – to smash it." "This is the kind of drive that's going to save the lives of doctors and other health workers at the frontline when COVID-19 positive patients present to them. Especially given that here are 180 countries around the world vying for the same global inventory pool, its incredible that SMD Technologies have been able to secure such a good deal directly from factories." https://www.instagram.com/p/B-gyZ7-H4-3/
