Screenings Of Skemerson @ The Bioscope

Joburg Admin / April 26, 2019

What Is It?

"It's okay, to not be okay". This is the overriding theme of Skemerson, Philip Rademeyer's highly anticipated new film. A young man (played by Pietie Beyers), battling a debilitating mental illness decides to take his own life. On his way to the Bloukrans bridge, he spends one last night at his family holiday home. He stands on the bridge, about to meet his fate, when he hears someone laugh. This is the beginning of a weekend that changes three lives forever. A young woman (Anneke Weidemann), her frail mother (Elize Cawood) and the young man meet purely by accident. Skemerson is a film that speaks a universal language of truth. It is inspired by true events and is likely to be one of the warmest, most honest films you’ll see this year. The Bioscope Independent Cinema will be screening Skemerson this May. The film opens on Friday, 3 May 2019 in cinemas nationwide. Be sure to book your tickets as soon as possible!
