Sandton City Stores Open During Lockdown Level 4

Joburg Admin / May 15, 2020

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the country’s commencement into Level 4 lockdown as of 1 May 2020, as a further measure to stop the spread of COVID-19. There is going to be a phased approach to the different levels of lockdown where certain trade restrictions that applied during complete lockdown have been lifted. In the case of Sandton City, we will see several more tenants trading as per The Government’s allowances under Level 4 lockdown. There will be a slight easing of trading hours, as well as the further implementation of stringent safety and hygiene measures for our shoppers, staff and tenants’ well-being.

Safety Precautions In Place at Sandton City

At Sandton City and Nelson Mandela Square, your well-being is their top priority. During these extraordinary times, these are the precautionary measure the centre has implemented to ensure the overall safety of customers, tenants and staff:
  • Close and transparent communication with all tenants and staff.
  • Increased cleaning protocol with additional focus on all commonly used equipment.
  • Ongoing deep-cleaning of the mall to ensure all common areas are thoroughly sanitised.
  • Increased refilling of soap dispensers in all bathroom facilities.
  • Provide on-site staff with hand sanitisers.
  • The centre will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates.

Parking Information

Sandton City parking will be FREE until further notice. When arriving at the centre, the boom will automatically open and no ticket will be dispensed. When exiting the centre, proceed straight to the booms. Sandton City mall building with blue sky in the background
