What Is It?
A Hair Thingy is a bilingual, Afrikaans and English story about the struggles and politics of hair. Performed by Rudy Bessit, this one-man show portrays four different characters - Aunty B, her husband Daniel and their daughters Spungee and Priscilla. Aunty B despises that her daughters have curly hair just like their father, while her hair is straight as a pin needle.
A Hair Thingy encourages self-acceptance, self-love and tolerance for fellow human beings, regardless of our own uniqueness and our differences. It is on stage at the Mardi Gras Theatre for one night only, so don't miss it!
