Replay FW18 Collection Takes Joburg By Storm

Joburg Admin / March 23, 2018

Contamination of styles, biker influences, military tendencies and references to the college world meet and meld to break the rules. The Rebels & Heroes collection takes shape through the strength of the military universe, interwoven with elements more typical of a college style, while biker influences are introduced into the moods, but with restraint. For him, parkas, bomber jackets and leathers are redesigned and mixed with college sweatshirts, shirts and denim or military-inspired jackets. T-shirts draw upon the rock world or are enhanced with gothic wording, while pants are “stolen” from army uniforms, with cargo models dominated by military green and camouflage. Alongside military green, the essential colourways are sand and camouflage prints. Black is essential for pants and biker jackets with a used look, while blue and red are the key colours for the college looks. Among the iconic men's apparel, a military trench coat with appliqué patches on the front for an urban, contemporary look and a leather biker jacket with a camouflage print; the parka and bomber jacket in camouflage print or in the solid military green version are played down with coloured patches and writing. The leather jacket is reinterpreted as a bomber, with references to the college world, such as contrasting knitted cuffs and collar. Chinos, available in 4 different colour options, are perfect with a denim shirt, and are the ideal option for an urban-street look. The collection for her: parka, bomber jacket, leather jackets and cargo pants are borrowed from the men's wardrobe, with a few adjustments. Coloured faux fur inserts are used to enhance the inside and hood of parkas, or transformed into cheerful appliqué collars for bomber jackets. Military looks become more feminine with blouses or floral-print bomber jackets for a touch of chic. Camouflage cargo pants are enhanced with bright, sequined inserts. For a feistier look, there are also women's black leather biker jackets with wording on the back or played down with patches. Completing the proposals, pleated knee-length skirts in military green coated fabric, or dresses and skirts in black lace. Touches of colour such as red and turquoise are included to brighten up the collection's predominant tones of military green and black. A veritable must-have for the ladies is the long cloth overcoat in a loose fit, revisited with added irony in the form of contrasting appliqué patches on the front. For him, denim focuses on clean lines, in which the key players are blue and black denim tones, with nuances conceived to highlight the strong vintage appeal of the garments. Patches, abrasions, creasing and tears are the perfect features to give denims a used appearance. The look is completed with jackets and basic shirts. A choice of fits and shades make the women's denim range appealing as well as complete. Colour tendencies develop around shades of black and blue. Power stretch denim is the star, with five-pocket jeggings in an extremely tight fit, further revisited in the high-waisted and skinny versions. The clean lines and essential style are punctuated with fading, tears, ties, creasing and crinkles or played down with coloured patches and writing. Proposals for women also include two total-denim dresses, and jackets with a strong vintage appeal, featuring inserts in white faux fur. The collection comes in five different fits for men: skinny, slim, tapered, comfort and straight fit. Seven fits are available for women: jeggings, skinny, slim, bootcut, relaxed, boy-fit, carrot, cropped and oversized. Finally, the FW 18 season sees the return of one of Replay's denim must-haves: the Hyperflex model, proposed in four washes for him and four for her, in which innovation and authenticity combine to result in a unique and unmistakable style.
