Plan B Dessertery Comes To Rosebank

Joburg Admin / January 15, 2018

With a focus on innovative and exciting desserts, the inspiration for Plan B Dessertery comes from internationally popular street food desserts: foods that are easy to hold and ones that you don’t have to sit down with a knife and fork to eat. Their bubble waffles originate from Hong Kong, and churros and tacos are all the way from Mexico.

The fourth in a chain of Plan B Dessertery stores to open, The Zone @ Rosebank branch is the first to arrive in the City Of Gold, giving sweet tooth enthusiasts an opportunity to try these fun desserts. Each Bubble Waffle, taco, sugar cone and churro is made fresh while you wait, topped with a variety of delicious treats to satisfy even the sweetest tooth.

Plan B

The first Plan B franchisee, Carla Fitton, is beyond ecstatic about this breakthrough opportunity. We were invited to check out Carla's Plan B and discovered firsthand that she runs a tight ship. Off the bat, the staff are awesome. They are super friendly, funny, and know how to treat their patrons. Before we dive face-first into the bubble waffles, ice creams and in-house made sugar cones, let's cover the coffee, which is beautiful. In fact, the next time you're in the area, give Father Coffee a skip and grab a cuppa jo from Plan B instead. Their coffee is an Arabica blend of beans from Brazil, Ethiopia and Uganda, and patrons will appreciate the conscious approach to fresh, delicious produce and local suppliers. The blend is roasted in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands especially for Plan B Dessertery and bags of grounds or beans can be purchased at the store.

The beyond tasty bubble waffles come in nine different flavours, with options like the Bees Knees with vanilla ice cream, chocolate honeycomb and caramel sauce; the Toffee Apple with double caramel ice cream, green apple chunks and candied nuts; and the Wimbledon with vanilla ice cream, strawberries, crushed meringue, cream, chocolate sauce and a super special Oreo and ice cream covered thing. Another local quirk at Plan B Dessertery is the bottled water. Covered in unique illustrations from Durban designers, the bottles have become collector's items and people pay a visit to Plan B specifically for their artworks.

Plan B

Plan B Dessertery The Zone @ Rosebank is open Sunday to Thursday, 10am to 9pm, and Friday to Saturday, 10am to 11pm. The store is located in the Food Court at The Zone @ Rosebank, and can be contacted on (011) 327 6133.
