What Is It?
Ndikho is a theatre production which presents an allegorical world known as Ubukho-Ville; a not-so-fictional country home to generations of endangered women. Ubukho-Ville is plagued by a dark cloud, cursed with marching men who chant funeral hymns. But, the united fury of these endangered women gives birth to the spirit of Mvundla, who arrives as the carrier of news and the alchemist.
Ndikho is written and performed by Sanelisiwe Yekani, with design and direction by Sinenhlanhla Q. Zwane. The show has already has a number of successful runs at POPArt Theatre, WITS Theatre and the UJ Arts Festival. Don’t miss its official debut at Joburg Theatre!
