What Is It?

Metamorphosis returns to the UJ Arts & Culture Centre this July. Kafka's masterpiece Metamorphosis, is a story of a young man who is transformed overnight into a giant beetle like insect. He thus becomes an object of disgrace to his family, an outsider in his own home and a quintessentially alienated man. This is Kafka's harrowing, yet absurdly comic, meditation on human feelings of inadequacy, guilt, and isolation. Metamorphosis has undoubtedly become one of the most widely read and influential works of twentieth-century fiction. The UJ Arts & Culture Centre first presented their theatrical adaptation of Metamorphosis in 2018. The show then went on to tour at the Makhanda (formerly Grahamstown) National Arts Festival, where it received great ciritcal acclaim. Starring the notable Craig Morris, Khutjo Green, Ameera Patel and William Harding, this is one theatre show you won't want to miss.
