August House Fringe Art Affair

Joburg Admin / August 21, 2018

What Is It? August House is once again hosting its popular Fringe Art Affair event. The event forms a part of Joburg Art Week, and not only sees 60+ August House artists opening up their private studio spaces to the public, but also provides visitors with the opportunity to discuss the artworks with the artists and even purchase them directly. These Open Studio days happen two to three times a year, and are a fun social event with live performances, music, food and wine. August House is a legendary artist's hub with a 12 year history in the art world. It incubates, stimulates and supports emerging contemporary African fine artists. It has established itself as an independent art house that accommodates more than 50 independent pan-African artists all under one roof in private art studios. Together these artists collaborate, mentor and incubate other young artists in what is possibly the largest community of pan-African fine artists, all housed in one place, in the country. When Is It?
