What Is It?
Lihle Msimang is bringing her brand new stand up comedy special to the Auto & General Theatre on the Square.
Matemtem, a hilarious and insightful look into Lihle's upbringing in Meadowlands, Soweto. Featuring as part of the One Night Stands comedy festival, this is a must-see for fans of this super funny female comedian. Matemtem is a nickname bestowed upon Lihle by her mother whenever she needed something done around the house. Birthing a series of nicknames and mispronunciations of her name by suburban school teachers, Matemtem is part of Lihle's identity. Listen as she gives insight into her unique upbringing. And, laugh along as she explores the colourful nature of her family, friends and fellow South Africans.
The One Night Stands Comedy Festival takes place from Tuesday, 30 July 2019 to Saturday, 10 August 2019 at the Auto & General Theatre on the Square. Lihle Msimang is one of the ten headline comedians for the festival. To see the rest of the festival line-up,
