Lockdown Lowdown With Big Bad Wolf (Ricci Kalish)

Joburg Admin / April 24, 2020

What is the first thing you'll get up to once lockdown is over? Head straight to Father Coffee for a flat white...and then visit my parents and dogs. Which restaurant do you miss the most? This is a tough one. I would say Momo Kuro and Shucked Oyster Bar. https://www.instagram.com/p/BmlWIzQnGYl/ What's your favourite home-cooked meal you've made during lockdown? I’ve become obsessed with pulled beef dishes. Normally I wouldn’t have the time to spend 10 hours cooking meat. So, I’m using all this spare time coming up with new pulled beef dishes. What are you watching on Netflix?  I have more time on my hands, so I finally got to watch Cheer (cried non-stop), Tiger King and How To Fix A Drug Scandal, which was superb! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acTdxsoa428 Have you picked up a hobby or perfected a skill? Not really, however, I am attempting a 2000 piece puzzle. It’s a little daunting but keeps my mind occupied. What are the three staples in your kitchen right now? Lemons, Tabasco and pepper (goes with everything!) Coffee or tea? Coffee. Who are you in lockdown with? My boyfriend, Ryan. Couldn’t ask for a better lockdown cuddle-buddy. https://www.instagram.com/p/B1oZamCnzrj/ What are you currently most grateful for?  It’s such a tough question. There’s so much I am grateful for. Besides my family and their support through this, I’m really grateful that I can continue working. How do you keep yourself going and motivated during this time? I have no clue, honestly. Some days I want to stay in bed all day. I guess Ryan really helps to keep me motivated and moving. And the knowledge that this too shall pass helps.
