Little Ethiopia or Little Addis as it is known by the locals, is situated on the Eastern side of Johannesburg CBD on Rahima Moosa Street, which was formally known as Jeppe Street. Little Ethiopia is increasingly attracting bigger crowds of people from all walks of life. In fact, there are four blocks from Rahima Moosa Street ending at Klein Street dedicated to Johannesburg's Ethiopian quarter. Did you know? This neighbourhood is home to the largest number of Ethiopians in the city. You can find anything at the quarter from clothing to fabrics to traditionally authentic Ethiopian food. The area itself is vibrant with friendly people and music. There are even Chinese-made goods sold by hawkers along the streets however there are also sturdy handmade items from Ethiopia that are sold. The products that are sold here can even be brought for a bargain. With low prices that range from R5 to R75, depending on what the product is. If you'd like a taste of the East African country without leaving the country then this is the neighbourhood that you need to explore.
