Lady Salsa is the Spirit of Cuba, a hot and raunchy performance of Cuba’s hottest dancers and authentic Salsa band.
Cuba is the indisputable cradle of modern salsa, the hot, spicy Afro-Caribbean rhythms. In Cuba during times of slavery, Africans brought their rhythms and ritual dance to Cuba, here they were blended with Spanish guitars and melodies to create the fabulous sound of the Salsa Band.
Lady Salsa is a spicy Cuban dance and musical spectacular that interweaves the history of the revolution with the history of Cuban music and dance tracing its roots through earthy slave rhythms, the courtly danzón of the nineteenth century, the elegant twentieth century jazz numbers, ending with the exuberant salsa routines for which Cuba is famous today.
Trinidad Rolando, the seventy-six year old Cuban star of Lady Salsa, is captivating, lucid and is astonishingly energetic as the spellbinding character Lady Salsa. She is accompanied by an outrageously hot and sexy troupe of dancers and band direct from Havana. A hit at the World famous Edinburgh festival, on the West End, a hit in Europe and now appearing for the first time in South Africa with the support of MNET and Classic FM.
