#Kids: Our Kid's Entertainment Enthusiast Went To Pony Camp

Joburg Admin / May 4, 2018

Horse riding has never been high on our list of go-to activities, but Kayla (12) jumped at the idea when invited to join a friend during the school holidays. I happily agreed that she could go and mentally prepared myself for stories of how scary it was! Quite the opposite. At the end of the day, I fetched a dusty, tired, happy and very excited child who couldn’t wait to go back again. Houston, we have a winner! Our stable of choice (there are quite a few to choose from) was Roly Equestrian Stables in Muldersdrift. Not only does this beautiful venue offer horse riding lessons, but they also regularly host various Pony Camps and Pony Rides & Craft Days. The venue also offers stabling and provides a full livery service. Their facilities include a dressage area, jumping arena with equipment, grass arena, lunge ring and 45 acres of grazing! Roly Equestrian Stables Pony Camps: These are for children aged 5 – 15 years and take place from 09:00 – 15:30. For approximately R350, your child will take part in group lessons, activities, pony grooming and more. Lunch and juice is included in the price. Pony Rides & Craft Days: Aimed at a younger audience from 18 months – 6 years and taking two hours long, activities include pony rides, crafts, pony feeding and more. (Bring your own picnic lunch to enjoy afterwards!) Farm Parties: A wonderful idea for those looking for a party venue with-a-difference, children of all ages can play, explore, go on tractor and pony rides, play classic games such as Pin The Tail On The Donkey, and so much more. Plus, there’s no cleaning up to do afterwards! Roly Equestrian Stables The venue is highly recommended, especially when it comes to Pony Camp (Kayla has now been 3 times and has decided that she would like horse riding lessons!) She also loves the fact that she was taught to groom and feed the horses, and interact with them for so much longer than just a quick outride. As a parent, this is an absolute win during the school holidays (And she was fast asleep by 07:30pm that night!) Kids’ Rating: 8/10 For More Information Address: Plot 140 Nooitgedacht, Muldersdrift Tel: 083 310 2898 (Lyn) Email: [email protected] Web: www.rolyweb.com Roly Equestrian Stables
