What Is It?

Joel Leonard is a struggling actor, determined to become the world's leading expert on Shakespeare. That's why he believes that you need his solo version of Hamlet. It's out with the old and in with a new, hilarious take on the Billy Shakes classic. Presented as a serious of skits, Joel Leonard's Hamlet features news stories that graced the headlines over the last five years - including the Oscar Pistorius love story, the Vicki Momberg first time offence and the #FEESMUSTFALL soapie. Joel Leonard pushes the boundaries in this one-man comedy performance. Directed by Harry Adu Faulkner, this is a must-see for Shakespeare fans looking for something fresh and new. The show made its debut at the 2019 Makhanda National Arts Festival to much acclaim. Be sure not to miss it!
