Intercare Urgent Care Offers A Life-Saving Opportunity

Joburg Admin / September 11, 2017

The Doctor Will See You Now When you need urgent medical treatment, it is important that you receive the right care, in the right place, first time. While your primary GP is the best place to start when you're sick or hurt, there are occasions when they're not available. Up until quite recently, the ER was your only other option. Problem is, the modern-day emergency room is a busy place. This has multiple effects, including poor patient outcomes, prolonged 1pain, patient dissatisfaction, patients leaving without being seen and increased frustration among medical staff. That's where urgent care centres come in. They bridge the gap between hospital emergency rooms and doctor's rooms by offering patients walk-in care and immediate treatment of urgent, but not life-threatening emergencies. At urgent care centres, you can see a care provider without an appointment. Also, urgent care centres typically offer extended hours, because they understand situations requiring medical attention don’t always occur during business hours. Intercare Treating Fevers & Broken Bones  Staffed by doctors and nurses, urgent care centres can treat urgent yet not life-threatening emergencies, from flu and fever to casting broken bones. Nearly all procedures are covered by medical aids, so make sure you take your medical aid card and details along with you. Where Can You Find An Intercare Urgent Care Centre? Intercare has opened an urgent care centre in Northriding on the corner of Witkoppen Road and New Market Street, Hoogland. The centre is open from 08:00 to 19:00 on weekdays and 09:00 to 14:00 on weekends and public holidays. Medical conditions that can be treated at the centre include (but are not restricted to) asthma, minor injuries, stings, bites or allergic reactions, infections, vomiting, diarrhoea or dehydration, fever, headache and migraine, colds and flu, back and neck pain and abdominal pain.
