What Is It?

South African art giants Sam Nhlengethwa and William Kentridge first met in the 1980s. As teenagers hailing from completely different backgrounds the pair became unlikely friends. But, a common love for art and music helped formed a friendship which has lasted over three decades. Each artist’s distinctive taste in music often reveals itself in their art; Sam’s love for and study of the jazz community is highlighted in his latest exhibition titled Leeto: A Sam Nhlengethwa Print Retrospective. Meanwhile, William’s love for opera has led him to some of the most prestigious stages in the world. Join these world renowned artists as they take a trip down memory lane together at the WITS Art Museum. Taking you through Sam's latest body of work, they will reminiscence and speak about their love for art and music. This is a rare opportunity to meet two great artists and hear them speak about their work. Don't miss it!
