Constitutional Hill is super proud to present their third annual edition of the three-day long celebration of our history, the Human Rights Festival. This is one of the signature events hosted at Constitution Hill to uphold our culture of human rights. The 2020 edition of the festival celebrates the contribution and promise of young people whose actions change the world for the better.
The Human Rights festival showcases the work of social justice organisations and explores human rights issues through exhibitions, film, poetry, theatre, music, dialogues and debates. It provides a platform to engage with human rights issues in both the South African and global contexts.
The event will kick off with FREE exhibitions and tours of Constitution Hill. Over the next few days, there will be plenty of activities on Activism Row, including a film festival, workshops, theatre and a poetry festival. The main event for this year's festival, the Music Fest takes place on the second evening of the festival, with the "We the People Walk” happening on the final day. The walk encourages citizens to walk for the realisation of the rights enshrined in our Constitution under the banner #WETHEPEOPLE?
