Human Rights Festival

The Constitutional Hill Human Rights Festival is super proud to present their second edition of The Human Rights Festival. And where else could this amazing event be held other than at Con Hill? The Human Rights Festival is one of the signature events at Constitution Hill to uphold our culture of human rights. This year’s Human Rights Festival coincides with South Africa celebrating 25 Years of Democracy as well as the 70th Year of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights . See you there!

Copper Bar Human Rights Day

On this Human Rights Day, make sure you join in at Copper Bar Human Rights Day in Bryanston as they celebrate this day Joburg style. This place has an amazing view and an amazing menu. It is an intimate and elegant rooftop experience allowing you to hide away from the hustle and bustle of city life. JHB Culinary and Pastry School Market/Open Day

We all know the best way to celebrate any holiday in Mzansi is through mouthwatering, amazing and lekker food. We also believe you will love this event because there is going to be plenty to feast on, oh yeah bring your appetites this Human's Rights Day. Safari & Secret Underground Dinners

Date: Friday, 22 March 2019 at 19:00 - 23:00.

This event is not happening on the 21st of March, but still worth going to to celebrate the Human's Right's Day weekend. Zwipi is one of our favourite underground bar and restaurant and we love their events because they always host epic events. So, without furthermore to do make sure you join in on this Safari Dining experience. This place is also said to give you an unforgettable experience of delectable foods and drinks in two of the most astonishing Johannesburg inner-city spaces, which are both located at the Thunder Walker on Gandhi Square. Bookings cost R595 per person, including paired drinks, city tour and a three course meal.

Human Rights Debate

Are you into debating and talking about the things that matter? Well then, you're in for a treat because this event gives you just that and more. Gather your friends and head to Apartheid Museum, they will be hosting a dialogue entitled The Black Body: still a site of oppression. So, will you be joining this Human Rights Debate? An Audience With Imogen Heap

Guess who is coming to town! No it's not Santa guys it's still too early for him to pay us a visit, plus we're still taking down the Christmas decorations. Imogen Heap is the one coming, exciting right! We think so too. Heavy Chef is very thrilled to announce that they have added a very special evening to Imogen's tour together with the crazy awesome people at Victoria Yards for Ms. Heaps' intimate, impromptu performance. Imogen will be telling her own story, playing a selection of stripped-down songs, engaging with the audience and expounding her views on creative entrepreneurship, technology, Blockchain, cryptocurrency and the music industry at large. Colour My Pride

Date: Saturday, 23 March 2019 at 13:00 - 17:00.

We told you the weekend is about to get amazing right. We strongly believe in rights for all and that is what this month and every other month is South Africa should stand for. Colour My Pride is a safe space, colour run and picnic created for the awareness of Human Rights as the LGBTQ community. Donation drive through will also be there. Please come with any of these; sanitary pads, bathing soap or toothpaste. Come give without expectations and make sure you have fun while at it.

Ponte Challenge

Date: Sunday, 24 March 2019 at 19:00 - 10:00.

Fitness is always something to look forward to, think about it as your goal to feel and look good. You'll be doing your health a favour, so be sure to join in for this first ever Ponte Challenge of the year. You will be tackling 900 stairs from the core of Ponte Tower up to the top floor (54), yes guys 54 floors. You can do it right?

Migrant Cuisines Tasting Tour

Date: Saturday, 23 March 23, 2019 at 7 PM – 11 PM

Migrant Cusines Tasting Tour is Joburgplaces' signature experience. Knowing that Joburg is the city of migrants allowing us to embrace diversity, which is why we are always looking forward to venturing to other cultures with our taste buds. This Human's Right's Day we are celebrating with dishes that bring people together. The menu is made up of Chinese, Cape Malay, Mozambican, Zimbabwean, Syrian and Indian cuisine. Sharpeville Food Festival

Date: Saturday, 30 March 2019 at 12:00.

In the spirit of Human Rights Day, make sure you head to the Sharpeville Food Festival at the George Thabe Stadium. There will be a variety of food available (about 20 food stalls), as well as drinks and music (from 15 local artists and an international surprise music act). Not to mention a kiddies' corner and helicopter rides on the day. Don't panic mom and dad, breathe we've got you covered for this public holiday. We know public holidays are pretty scary sometimes especially if you are a parent, so to help you out we thought you'd love to keep the kids occupied even if they won't be going to school. Bring them to this Kids School Holiday Activities and get them to enjoy free activities. They have Sandart, Lego, fun games and a NEW cookie decorating station! Their favourite clown, Kallie will be there to keep the laughs going between 14:00 – 15:00 on Sundays.
