The Haunted Forest®: Spooky Fun for All Ages!
Halloween is a centuries-old celebration enjoyed by people of all backgrounds and cultures – especially those with a sweet tooth or who enjoy dressing up and participating in the games that can be played and the festivities associated with it. It’s family time and not the exclusive domain of any country!
Started in 2017, the Haunted Forest® event is the only one of its kind in South Africa and has been growing steadily in popularity. Haunted Forest® 2024 promises another bumper festival experience to be held on 26 October at Inanda Country Base, with something to cater for everyone, young and old.
What To Expect at The Haunted Forest
“Trick and treating is from 18:00 to 19:30, with the real ‘scare’ factor commencing at 20:00,” says event founder and organiser, Leone Amon. “The list of activities includes watching films, playing vintage games such as a test of strength for big and little humans, going for a walk in the haunted forest woods which has life-size scenes and actors, or joining the echoes of shouts and screams in the Haunted House.”
The event has a large picnic area surrounded by a big LED screen showcasing films, starting with child-friendly movies and ending the evening with the spooky horror movie offerings.
There are food and product vendors, a bar and a make-up room where visitors can have their makeup done before the event.
“There is a play area for children with materials provided for a child-friendly bucket making workshop. This year, the Haunted House is themed ‘The Last Gas Station On The Left’. And there are prizes for the best-dressed visitor costumes,” continues Amon.
“While safety and security are always top priorities. The uppermost objective of the festival is that it has something for everyone and is an evening of memorable fun.”

- Cost: R350 per adult. R250 per teen. R100 per child aged 11 years and younger. Toddlers aged 2 years and younger enter FREE. R500 per family ticket.
