Happy Acres - consistently the best holiday camp since 1945
Happy Acres is situated 56km west of Johannesburg in picturesque Magaliesberg. The children’s Holiday Camp is run by Jigs and Sally Rinsma, with a staff of counsellors who are "old" campers, selected and trained in leadership. Upon arrival at camp, children are divided into smaller age groups of approximately 10-12 children. A camp counsellor is allocated to each group and stays with his/her group throughout the week. Counsellors provide stimulating activities for different age groups and ensure that campers of all ages are well cared for and entertained. Some activities involve the entire camp group and other sessions are group specific, catering for various age groups and ability levels. An exciting new programme with activities to suit all is designed for each camp. The wide variety of activities include arts, crafts, walks, games, sports, hobbies, swimming, cook-outs, crab catching, playing with the guinea pigs or rabbits, etc. All the activities at Happy Acres are supervised and conducted with children’s safety in mind.
Transport:
Campers will travel to Happy Acres by bus from Johannesburg, accompanied by Jigs and the Camp Counsellors. Details of transport and a clothing list will be sent to you when they receive your booking. They will be glad to give you any further information you may require.
