What Is It?
Pieter Dirk Uys and the irrepressible Evita Bezuidenhout, are to be honoured at this year's Grilling Of A Lifetime. Both figures will feature alongside a hand-picked panel of friends and colleagues, who will take turns poking fun at these beloved South Africans. The first part of the evening will be a brief and lovely retrospective of the life and times of Pieter Dirk Uys - activist, performer, satirist. Then a short break and the remainder of the evening will see frocks on and gloves off as Evita squares off against the panel.
Good natured jabs, risque retorts and satirical ribbings will all feature as the panel baste and then flame Evita and each other. With the slick production that has become the signature of the Savanna Critic's Choice Awards, this promises to be a night to remember.
