Head to the beach to take a lovely evening stroll along Clarke Bay Beach, or walk the Ballito Boardwalk and take in the beautiful sights. Enjoy a chilled draught at the Great Railroad Brewing Company, and tantalise your tastebuds at a number of different restaurants and cafes in the area.
Cape Town
One of the most popular tourist spots, Cape Town, is just the place to enjoy your honeymoon if you want scenic views, beautiful beaches and a little sightseeing. You can spend your evenings dining on amazing cuisine, or partying up a storm on Long Street! And during the day, there are plenty of tourist attractions to explore, hiking trails to reconnect you with nature, wine estates offering wine pairings and tastings, as well as sand boarding in Betty’s Bay. There is loads for you to see and do in Cape Town.
Magaliesburg
Enjoy the great outdoors in Magaliesburg. Not only is there an abundance of stunning accommodation options for you to choose from, but there are also plenty of fun outdoor activities to get your adrenaline pumping. Be adventurous and do the Magaliesberg Canopy Tour, be wowed by the Wonder Cave in Kromdraai, or enjoy a day of off-road go-karting at Saddle Creek Ranch. And, if your spouse is a beer lover, then don’t miss out on a beer tasting at the famous Gilroy Brewery.
Clarens
About three hours away from the hustle and bustle of our busy city is the little town of Clarens. This area may look like a quiet, old town, but it is filled with plenty of fun activities to keep you busy. From Wild Ride Quad Biking and white river rafting on the Ash River, to plenty of art galleries, a beer brewery, hiking trails, and dinosaur tours – there is loads for you and your partner to explore and enjoy. And, if you’re lucky, you can catch their Cherry Festival, which normally runs in November.
Franschhoek
The perfect destination for wine lovers, Franschhoek is home to a number of vineyards. Just imagine relaxing in the countryside, taking in all of the stunning views, and sampling glasses of red and white wine from local vineyards. Not only can you relax and enjoy a little alone time, but you can also experience a selection of activities in the area, including Cape Winelands horse riding, mountain bike adventures, bicycle tours, Franschhoek Valley walks, and even vineyard hopping!
Mpumalanga
For newlyweds who are looking to add a little bit of adventure to their honeymoon, there is always Mpumalanga! This is just the area if you are looking to enjoy some sightseeing which includes spots such as God’s Window, the Blyde River Canyon, and Bourke’s Luck Potholes. You can also get a little more adventurous and do some river rafting, and even brush up on your history in the quaint little town of Pilgrim’s Rest.
Johannesburg
Yes, we just had to mention our lovely city. You may think that Joburg isn’t the ideal destination for a honeymoon, but there is more to our city than you think. From boutique hotels and top-notch accommodation options, you are sure to find the ideal place to celebrate your first few nights as newlyweds. And, not only that, but there are loads of things you can do in the city, from dining at the best restaurants and checking out amazing art at inner city galleries, to beer tastings, museums, markets, sightseeing, and much more.
