Give Your Holiday Season A Robust American Twist With Distilled Spirits USA

Joburg Admin / December 4, 2017

With American Whiskeys, get in on the hottest new global spirits trend and infuse your braai, enjoy a home whiskey tasting or get the festive season rolling with a cocktail party. It's easy to be a spectacular host this holiday season with these deliciously spicy cocktails or summer coolers. You can get your authentic American Whiskeys, such as Bourbon, Tennessee Whiskey, Rye Whiskey, and other US distilled spirits at all good liquor stores. Try this garden fresh low-cal Mint Julep... Ingredients:
  • 20ml Bourbon
  • 4 – 5 Mint sprigs
  • 2 sugar cubes or a dash of simple syrup
  • Crushed ice
In a glass, muddle the mint and sugar well, bruising the mint leaves, to dissolve the sugar and release the flavour of the mint. Add the Bourbon. Fill the glass with crushed ice and stir well. Garnish with a mint sprig. For extra freshness, add a twist of lemon rind. When it’s hot, hot, hot, go for a Tennessee Cooler... Ingredients:
  • 45ml honey-infused Tennessee Whiskey
  • 100ml apple juice
  • 100ml ginger ale
Serve over ice and garnish with a lemon wedge. And... voilà! Give some American flair to festive entertaining with an Apple Cider Bourbon cocktail... Ingredients:
  • One-part Bourbon
  • Three parts apple cider
  • A dash of freshly squeezed lemon juice
Combine chilled cider, lemon juice and Bourbon over ice and garnish with a cinnamon stick. On chilly nights around the braai, heat the apple cider with a slice of fresh ginger root, and blend with the Bourbon for a spicy, warming drink garnished with a cinnamon stick. Ring in the changes with a dash of maple syrup for extra sweetness and festive flavour.
