The aim at the Footprint Hiking Club is to offer members the best and widest variety of trails available in Southern Africa. These include day walks from a central hut, weekend backpack hikes, longer backpack routes and wilderness trails.
The top trails such as the Otter, Tsitsikamma, Amatola, Wild coast, Fish River Canyon, Strandloper and Kosi Bay all form part of our club callendar on a regular basis while weekend day routes such as Mapulaneng are suitable for beginners and families. Advice and assistance is always available to inexperience hikers.
The club also has a limited supply of equipment for hire at a nominal cost to enable the beginner to try out hiking without first having to spend a lot of money. Above all we believe that hiking is a means of getting closer to nature and not just a way of working off excess energy.
