Flanders Rule Of Three At The Market Theatre

Joburg Admin / March 12, 2019

What Is It?

Contemporary dance is a verified art form in the small, European state of Flanders (Northern Belgium). Since the 1980's, radical experiments in dance have been pursued by a new generation of daring Flemish choreographers. Joburg audiences will be treated to a three month long showcase of the work of some of Flanders most accomplished choreographers. This exhibition of cultural exchange between the Flanders and South African governments will be staged at The Market Theatre in Newtown, Johannesburg.

Kicking it off, Jan Martens Rule of Three will be performed by dancers Steven Michel, Courtney Robertson and Daniel Mussett on Saturday, 16 March 2019. In Rule of Three, storytelling is blended with live music to create a night-club vibe combined with the feeling of getting lost in the pages of a book. The result is a stunning dance piece that is expected to be loud, bright and brilliant.
