Trendy Tapas and Traditional Pub Fare
The Fat Ginger was established in early 2020, taking over the legacy of the much-loved Keg & Beagle. Owner Chris Williams (or the self-appointed 'Fat Ginger') decided to take the pub in a new direction. His focus was less on the traditional English pub grub that the Keg & Beagle had been popular for, and on crafting a newer, trendier gastronomic experience. The idea was to develop a hybrid bar and restaurant, serving a variety of wines, beers and sharing plates. Today, The Fat Ginger finds itself somewhere in the middle of old-fashioned English pub and super trendy gastro bar.
The menu features an array of cuisines and dietary niches. We can't get enough of their tapas selection - fusion sharing plates that pack a flavour punch and are serious crowd pleasers. The Fat Ginger is also well known for their craft burgers, tacos, and grills. You'd find it near impossible not to enjoy something off of their menu, as they cater for vegans, Banting and Paleo followers and gluten-free diners. The Fat Ginger prides themselves on crafting unique and intriguing meals, so don't miss out.
If you prefer the more traditional English pub fare, you'll be well catered for at the gastrobar. They've got it all. From classic beef wellington, to beer battered fish and chips with mushy peas, and even Guinness Pot Pie! These are the kind of meals you will think about long after the last mouthful, especially when paired with one of the Fat Ginger's select craft beers. Sounds sublime to us.

Have you been craving live entertainment and fun? The gastrobar hosts a variety of events weekly. Join them for Thursday quiz nights, live music Saturdays and Sunday lunch. It's an absolute blast.
