Roxanne's Rum Eatery
The latest addition to the Pineslopes Boulevard family, Roxanne's Rum Eatery is the place to kick off your night with a bang. From amazing food, interesting cocktails, neon lights and good music, this bar/restaurant sure knows how to set the vibe for the rest of your evening. Since we were getting ready to party the night away, we grabbed some delicious finger foods to go along with our fancy cocktails. We tried out the Crispy Squid & Curly Fries and the Tempura Battered Riblets and Curly Fries. They were YUM! As for the cocktails, if you like sipping on something sweet, we recommend the Dita Von Teese which arrived with a massive Hibiscus flower on top. Defiitely grabbed a few of those.
Roco Mamas
If you're looking for a chilled night out, then Roco Mamas is a good bet. Not only is it nestled between all the other hip and happening places in case you change your mind on that chilled night out, but it also has some of the best burgers in the business. If you haven't tried any of their Limited Edition burgers, you're totally missing out! We remember the days of the Slaw Daddy and we just couldn't get enough! And the chilli cheese fries - a MUST with any burger and ice-cold draught!
Stones
Yes, Stones does still exist and it's still as cool and pumping as it was all those years ago. This venue is an oldie but a goodie and has everything you need for an awesome night out on the town. Get out on the dance floor and show off your moves to good dance tunes and crowd pleasing oldies spun by the resident DJ; play a few rounds of pool with your mates; and down a few shooters at the bars. Just remember to be responsible, okay? They also host a few events here and there, so make sure you visit their Facebook page to see what's coming up.
Beerhouse Fourways
Popular. Busy. Always pumping. Music. Beer. That's all we can say about Beerhouse Fourways. They have the biggest beer variety available in the city, making it a great spot if you love beer or are looking to sample a few different types. They have everything and anything from fruity, playful, light and aromatic to refreshing, complex, heavy and dark. There's a beer for all tastes. Visit here often enough and you'll become a beer expert for sure! Other than the wide variety in beer, they also host a few good parties including their famous Silent Disco. This pool hall has been around for donkeys years! It's a great place to be if you're looking to unwind after a long week at the office, grab a beer or two with your mates or brush up on your pool table skills. And the great thing about it is the fact that it's within walking distance of all the other party spots in the centre.
Billy The BUMS
Pineslopes Boulevard wouldn't be Pineslopes Boulevard without Billy's! This one is yet another oldie but goodie that many of us have visited at some point in our lives. This was the place to be for ladies night, it was also a cool hangout for varsity students from UJ (speaking from experience) and for the wiser (and older) folk to grab a draught and chill. They play party favourites and golden oldies that'll have you dancing all night long. Not to mention their cocktails!
Adrenaline Café
This one is a place we have never seen before until just recently - Adrenaline Cafe, situated just down the way from Ballbreakers. We walked past and this place was pumping with loud dance music and loads of flashing lights. We don't know how we have missed this one in the past! They too host quite a few events over the weekends, so don't forget to check out their lineup!
SkyBar
A bar in the sky, it doesn't get more extreme than that! The SkyBar is a must if you're into the whole extreme side of life. There's abseiling, bungee jumping and climbing activities around this bar, as well as the opportunity to get a 360-degree view of Fourways and surrounds while sipping on your favourite beer. Just make sure you get there early to experience the SkyBar as it closes at 21:00 (20:00 on Sundays and public holidays). We will definitely be going up there when we next visit the area!
