Northgate Shopping Centre's cinema had a renovation not too long ago that brought in Century Cinemax. This cinema has long been a popular choice in West African countries like Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. Century Cinemax makes use of the latest digital technology to provide viewers with the best sound and picture quality. Each one of the screens offers a different experience with unique viewing for the ultimate movie experience.
Viewings include VIP 2D, VIP 3D, 2D Max Screen, 3D Max Screen, Gold VIP, Playroom 2D, Playroom 3D, Standard 2D and Standard 3D, on comfy plush seats. Other treatments include reclining seats, cuddle seats and treats. Treats offered are flavoured popcorn, candyfloss, hot chocolate in a cone and slushies. And the best thing about this movie house? Kids get their very own bright and colourful cinema!

Ice Rink
Perhaps the most popular draw to Northgate Shopping Centre, the ice rink offers hours of chilly fun for the whole family. Cost for a session of skating is *R80.00 for entrance and *R35.00 for skate hire. But there are discounted rate for groups, on Tuesdays, for Sunday Night Madness and for those with a Cheap Skate Card.
Other services available at the Northgate Ice Rink include skate sharpening for *R50 as well as party hire and a tuck shop offering snacks and drinks. Those who are unable to skate can join the ice skating academy for an eight week course (1 hour per week) with professional coaches. These lessons are great for all ages.

This shopping centre boasts one of the largest arcades at a shopping mall. Fantasia has all the latest in arcade games to keep the fun going. Here, individuals, couples, families and children can spend hours upon hours having a blast playing the large variety of games on offer. The better you do in a game, the more tags you earn. These tags can then be exchanged for your choice of toy.
So grab your friends and head on over to Fantasia. Spend the day battling against zombies in an adrenaline pumping shoot out. Fight against a bask of hungry crocodiles, wage war against the strong arm or bust a move dancing against the clock. Adjoining Northgate Shopping Centre is the
Ticketpro Dome, one of Joburg's most popular entertainment destinations. They offer many events throughout the year including conferences, exhibitions, shows, concerts, banquets and festivals.
Apart from the dome, Northgate Shopping Centre itself hosts a multitude of events. These consist of sidewalk sales, road races, putt-putt, competitions, Black Friday sales, Halloween fun houses, fun fairs, shavathons and Christmas events. These fun events are perfect for the whole family.
