The Bioscope
The Bioscope is an independent movie cinema where you can catch all kinds of film – from foreign film festivals and locally-made movies to specific events like Noodlebox Cinema, where you get to watch kung fu movies while eating noodles. Pretty rad, right? The chairs are repurposed car seats so get comfy and settle in for a great film. You can also bring food and drinks into the cinema from Chalkboard Café, which is just next door. Although they have found a new home in Milpark, sdoesn't mean you can't play them a visit when you're around town.

The Living Room is a rooftop bar and café that serves up healthy food and has regular Sunday gatherings. Pop in and enjoy the smooth sounds of a DJ while you sip on a cocktail and take in the amazing city views! You’re bound to meet some interesting characters atop this roof so head on over and get some dancing in.

Market On Main
The most obvious attraction when you head to Maboneng is to visit
Market on Main - this is for good reason, so don’t look away. If you’ve yet to pay them a visit, what are you waiting for? The market goes down every Sunday from 10:00-15:00 and is filled to the brim with all kinds of goodies you’ll want to eat and take home with you – from Ethiopian food and cakes in jars to stunning jewellery and unique vintage clothing, they’ve got it all.

Smack Brewery
This artisanal brewing company can be found inside the Arts on Main building. Not only does
Smack craft their own unique brand of beer, but once a month they also host local photographers, artists and live acts so check out their Facebook page to stay in the loop. It’s safe to say that if you’re a lover of beer, you’ve got to try Smack soonest!

Time Anchor Distillery
Time Anchor Distillery is located in a new development in Maboneng called Aerial Empire. Here, Time Anchor produces small batches of artisanal spirits. The distillery offers tours and tastings on weekends but you’ve got to make a booking if you want to join in so be sure to give them a call before you drop in.
