Easter Arts And Crafts For Kids

Joburg Admin / February 20, 2024

Spoon Bunnies

What You Need:

  • Pipe Cleaners
  • Craft Glue
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Permanent Markers and Coloured Pencils

Method:

Twist pipe cleaners into ear shapes and securely fasten them to spoons using craft glue. Using markers, paint, or coloured pencils, draw adorable bunny faces on the spoons. For the finishing touch, dip the eraser end of a pencil into pink paint and gently stamp it onto the spoons to create cute bunny cheeks.

Paper Plate Chick

What You Need:

  • Gluestick
  • Scissors
  • Googly Eyes
  • Orange Paper
  • Feathers
  • Yellow Dessert Plate

Method:

Cut two long strips and a diamond shape from orange card stock for the chick's legs and beak. Fold the strips accordion-style for the legs and attach the feet. Glue the beak to the center of a paper plate and add googly eyes. Attach feathers to the plate for wings and then your adorable Easter chicks are ready!

Papier-Mâché Easter Baskets

What You Need:

  • Papier-mâché paste (made from mixing equal parts flour and water)
  • Newspaper
  • Paint and paint brushes
  • Balloons
  • Pieces of felt or coloured paper
  • Wide ribbon

Method:

Blow up the balloon and tie it closed. Draw a pattern around the balloon with a marker. Balance the balloon on a bowl to prevent it from moving around too much. Next, tear the newspaper into long strips. Dip the paper into the papier-mâché and attach it around the top of the balloon until the pattern you drew is complete. Continue attaching newspaper until you have a thick layer of paper around the balloon (about five layers). Allow the papier-mâché to dry, this will take a few hours. When the papier-mâché is dry, pop and remove the balloon. As an optional step, sand the basket to get smooth edges. Next, paint the basket and attach embellishments of your choice. Make some small holes in each side of the basket and attach the ribbon.
