Introducing The Beer Passport

The Beer Passport is more than just a collectible; it's a gateway to beer-filled adventures and exclusive brewery discounts. This vintage, pocket-sized guide is your companion for exploring the vibrant taprooms and cosy pubs scattered across South Africa. Carefully curated, this finely crafted passport serves as your gateway to an unforgettable adventure, leading you to over 120 of the Beer Troopy's personally selected breweries and pubs. Who is Beer Troopy? Holger Meier, a South African entrepreneur who is passionate about promoting the South African beer scene.

How It Works

As you journey from one brewery to another, their esteemed partners eagerly await to stamp your passport, transforming each visit into a cherished milestone on your beer-fueled adventure.

  • Buy a beer passport for R350 per person.
  • Get your passport stamped by one of the 120 participating bars in the beer passport.
  • Collect a free beer.

By presenting your passport, you'll be hailed as a Beer Trooper, granting you access to exclusive rewards that offer a tantalising glimpse into South Africa's vibrant beer culture as never experienced before.

Gauteng Participating Stores

Moreover, the Beer Passport is conveniently divided into five distinct regions for easy navigation: Johannesburg, West Rand, Tswane, Sedibeng, and Ekurhuleni. Participating Gauteng bars include Capital Craft in Pretoria, Labora Yard, Irish Pub, Molly Malones, and Gilroy Brewery, among others.

View their full list of participating stores here.

Some T's and C's

Free Beer: The beer Troopy has been able to arrange a free beer at each destination at the generosity of the brewer. The terms of the free beer are at the discretion of the brewer. It might be a small taste or a full beer or only with a meal.

Beer Tour Buses are a No! No! A carload of mates is okay. The Beer Passport is not designed to encourage pub crawling.

Additionally, when you visit their partner destinations please stay a while, enjoy a meal, buy a few rounds. Have some fun!
