What Is It?
Turffontein Racecourse will be hosting the second leg of the Triple Crown and Wilgerbosdrift Triple Tiara series. The Triple Crown consists of three races in quick succession for three-year-old horses only. It's considered to be one of the greatest achievements in thoroughbred horse racing and one of the hardest to achieve. The first leg, the Gauteng Guineas, was run in early February over 1 600m. The SA Classic, AKA the second leg, will be over 1 800m, taking place early March, with the Derby and Wilgerbosdrift SA Oaks on the 30 March 2019.
This is a thrilling and exciting day that celebrates families and ensures that everyone is entertained. As always, there's a designated kiddies entertainment area where the little ones can play to their hearts content. Also, stand the chance winning with fun lucky draws throughout the day with R10 000 cash up for grabs. Families can sit down, relax and refuel in the beer garden and enjoy live entertainment between the races. The day will be jam-packed, as there are 12 races on the cards!

This venue offers only the best in refreshments and meals, and has live DJs and entertainment throughout the day. So gents, dress smartly - jackets/blazers are a must. And ladies, dress to the nines and don your best ensemble.
