Behind the scenes, Eastgate has been working to present you with an amplified Piazza experience, taking the open-air space to completely new levels of sophistication, innovation, and entertainment, as inspired by the local landscape and community.
Eastgate is a proudly South African shopping centre and it is befitting to unveil the locally-inspired passion project on Heritage Day weekend, where we celebrate culture and a South Africa that belongs to all.
Eastgate has proudly transformed its Piazza into a place with an identity, a place that has a story to tell. It will showcase the
never-seen-before additions to its space with Solar Trees, beautifully painted and engaging animal sculptures, and so much more!
Let Eastgate be your host on this exciting long weekend, where families can enjoy a
sunny Weekend Market and journey through the Piazza learning about the fantastic animals of the Jukskei River, with many new photo opportunities and a delightful ambiance. Kids have an opportunity to be creative with
colouring-in activities and competitions, featuring the Piazza’s new resident animals, at all the restaurants.
Further elevating the wonderful weekend entertainment awaiting you, the Piazza will host
live entertainment with purpose. In partnership with
Waiting in the Wings, a percentage of the parking proceeds will be donated to the relief fund for struggling artists impacted by the ongoing pandemic.
