Digging In With The Ladies From Why Cook

Joburg Admin / October 23, 2019

How did you two lovely ladies meet? We met at a mutual friend’s party, we just clicked and got along like a house on fire. The rest, as they say, is history! How did Why Cook come about? At the party we got chatting, and realised we shared the same sentiments and ideas and it was an obvious choice to merge our efforts. We saw the need to specialise in unlimited sized events, corporate meals and private dinners, while providing the best ingredients to put together prideful meals with high class quality. This vision has led to Why Cook being offered amazing opportunities. Just recently, we partnered with Nestlé Recipes With Love, where we led two consumer cooking classes, teaching them about ingredients like Maggi Lazenby. If given the opportunity, would you ever open a restaurant? And where would you open? Yes, Why Cook would absolutely love to open a restaurant in Lesotho! The dream continues! Why Cook Are you witnessing any food trends or more and more requests for certain things from customers? Yes, we have definitely noticed various trends. We’ve noticed that our customers love and appreciate custom made menus that suit their specific lifestyle. They also enjoy themed events and personal, sentimental additions. This really helps set us apart from competition. Are people taking to the private dining offering? It’s quite an interesting line item that you ladies have! Why Cook finds clients really love the experience of a chef cooking in their own kitchen because they can also learn a few ‘tricks of the trade’. These chef elements they don’t have access to on a daily basis, and also don’t get from a restaurant while dining. We bring the restaurant to your own house, this offers a great new and unique dynamic, that greatly differs from eating at a restaurant. According to Why Cook, what is the most iconic South African dessert? It has to be the Peppermint Crisp Tart. Everyone loves some Nestlé Caramel Treat. How can the public get hold of you and your services? The public can give us a call on 081 260 3005.
