The environment will play an increasingly important role in South Africa's future and Delta Environmental Centre is committed to educating for this future. It is the largest urban facility of its kind in South Africa with more than 40 000 participants every year. The organisation is structured to meet the challenges of the new South Africa and the RDP in particular.
Delta Environmental Centre is a private, independent Section 21 company that aims, through innovative education and training programmes, to enable people to improve the quality of their environment by promoting the management and sustainable use of all resources.
This is achieved through:
creating awareness about environmental issues;
imparting/sharing appropriate knowledge;
introducing new, and enhancing existing, participants skills;
developing responsible attitudes to the environment; and
on-going monitoring and assessment of programmes offered.
