What Is It?
The Joburg Theatre presents Kagiso Tsimakwane's
Decomposed Soul this August. Set in a fictional African country,
Decomposed Soul deals with issues of race, politics, colonialism and oppression. Under the system of Apartheid, South Africa was left to decompose, along with her people. This one-man show sees writer, director and performer Kagiso Tsimakwane take on the task of telling South African's untold stories. He weaves between 24 different character roles, merging physical theatre, satire and language to untangle the myth of the Apartheid system. He is joined on stage by two extraordinary musicians. Blending African traditional song with contemporary tunes, Tsimakwane and the band will take you on a journey through space and time. So, be sure to book your tickets as soon as possible!
