Owner Natalie Wadsworth started out by baking for friends and family using recipes passed down from her grandmother. She then took the leap towards selling her baked goods at markets and fairs before establishing what is now known fondly as the Gingerbread Lady Bakery. Natalie's mother, partner and brother in law have also since joined the venture to become the ultimate brownie baking team. We visited the bakery not long ago to sample some of their goodies. Macaron heaven
The Gingerbread Lady Bakery produces over 30 varieties of macarons, crafting up to 1000 of them per week! We were thoroughly delighted by the variety of flavours and colours of these classic French delicacies. Perfectly chewy meringue and delicious fillings make these an absolute must-try when you visit the bakery. We will certainly be back to sample more of these tasty treats as soon as we can. The bakery is also well known for their selection of cupcakes, brownies, cookies and cakesickles. We didn't have the stomach to sample all of these delightful bakes, but we were definitely tempted. Instead we opted to try one of the bakery's best sellers - the Belgian chocolate fudgy brownie. This chocolatey masterpiece is super moist and divinely decadent. Highly recommended for those days when you need that extra bit of comfort to get you through.
