The Coolest B & B in Melville: Life On 3rd

Joburg Admin / December 2, 2016

A bed & breakfast should be judged on two things: the bed and the breakfast. As simple as that. Let's introduce you to our new hideaway in Melville. Life On 3rd is nestled in the heart of suburban Melville. Massive oak trees flank the road that leads up to the B&B. This in itself amplifies the feeling of "getaway". When entering Life On 3rd, it is clear that the interior design, artwork, and architecture of the venue is quintessential Melville. Life On 3rd makes a point of sticking true to this beatnik neighbourhood. This Melville B&B is fully kitted with 14 rooms, each fitted with beds so comfortable that these sleeping spots are the reason why Life On 3rd has been awarded Certificates Of Excellence for three consecutive years from TripAdvisor. Their single and double beds ensure a good night's sleep. The only problem is that once you lie down, getting up is hard... because the beds are so comfortable. B&B Life On 3rd does not serve dinner but this is the cool thing about staying over in Melville. There are tonnes of restaurants up the road that can be ordered from - in fact, it's an excuse to check out UberEats. But it is indeed a bed and BREAKFAST, which is served from 08:00 to 10:00. A spread of bread, cereals, and yoghurts are laid out for you to enjoy. The buck does not stop there... This is South Africa and we're big on breakfast. You can expect a farmhouse style plate stuffed with eggs, baked beans, bacon, sausages and hash browns to be offered as soon as you sit down. To boot, Bernard, who runs this fine establishment, brews a mean cup of java. All in all, Life On 3rd is perfect for those who want to get away from it all but not go too far from the city. If you're a writer then Life On 3rd would make for the perfect writing retreat - we'd know. Besides, if you're visiting from out of town for an all-nighter it's cheaper to stay at Life On 3rd instead of driving back home. Find more information here.
