UJ Arts & Culture, a division of the University of Johannesburg, presents two standout concerts at the Keorapetse William Kgositsile Theatre on 20 and 22 March 2026. What Is The Classical Music Weekend At UJ?
The Classical Music Weekend at UJ features two major performances across one inspiring weekend:
- Some Enchanted Evening on 20 March at 19:00
- Oratorio for Human Rights on 22 March at 15:00
Acclaimed soloists, a full orchestra and choir, and a carefully curated programme promise an evening of reflection and connection. This is a rare opportunity to experience exceptional classical music in Johannesburg at accessible prices.


Some Enchanted Evening: Opera And Musical Theatre Highlights
Soprano Yolisa Ngwexana and baritone Professor Federico Freschi headline this elegant concert. Steinway Artist Christopher Duigan curates and directs the programme.

Oratorio For Human Rights: South African Premiere
On 22 March, audiences will witness the South African premiere of Oratorio for Human Rights by Professor Jeanne Zaidel-Rudolph.
